In January, 2009, BelleauWood Farms Alpacas relocated to Penmerryl Horse Farm in Greenville, Virginia.  The farm is perfectly located 3 miles off of I-81 / I-64 20 miles North of the Virginia Horse Center.  We are 12 miles South of Staunton and 20 miles North of Lexington in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. 

Below are photos of the facilities at Penmerryl.  We are excited about the new opportunities these facilities offer us to care for our herd and provide further services to our customers.   Picture ALPACAS in place of the horses in the photos :o)  We will have some new photos of the farm with our fuzzy buddies as soon as possible!

The Bed & Breakfast facilities will hold up to 35 people, and there is room for 3 break out classrooms to run simultaneously.  Please stay tuned for our new seminar schedule.

Penmerryl Farm provides first class accommodations for our guests' horses and excellent facilities for riding your horse in a variety of venues.

We have tried to think of everything that can make your stay more enjoyable for both you and your horse. Our modern, top-of-the-line stables are close enough to the guest rooms for easy, regular visits with your horse. The stalls are oversized and airy with all the amenities required to assure your horse's comfort and safety.

We offer a wide vatiety of indoor and outdoor riding venues, including well-maintained indoor and outdoor arenas and a spacious dressage ring. There is a cross country course with jumps at a variety of levels, and miles of riding through rolling pasture and tree lined trails which are located on 300 acres with two stream-fed lakes.

We are in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley's hunt country and the

Virginia Horse Center, nearby in Lexington, offers a variety of special events and show opportunities.

Guest Accommodations

Facing the pool and convenient to the stable and guest barn are ten individual lodge rooms equipped with telephones, mini-refrigerators and televisions.

Groups of up to eight may choose to stay in our pleasantly rustic but fully equipped, well appointed and very comfortable three-bedroom log cabins, also facing the pool.

Generous, gourmet breakfasts are served in the great room of the lodge, and the pool-side gazebos have become a gathering place for late afternoon drinks and conversation.

Amenities

In addition to our welcoming guest accommodations, and our first class facilities for our guests' horses, there are many ways for our guests to enjoy themselves during their stay with us.

Pool

The beautiful pool anchors the central courtyard, right by the large, indoor hot tub. It is a perfect place to swim, gather with your friends and family or just relax after a day of riding or other outdoor activities.

Tennis Court

The tennis court is conveniently located and is one of the many amenities enjoyed by both our riding and our non-riding guests.

 

Lake view

There are two spring-fed lakes on the property which provide opportunities for a number of water sports.

Lake Beach

A white sand beach on the upper lake provides a launching area for swimming, canoeing, fishing and sailing.

Sailing

Canoeing, boating and sailing are all available on the large upper lake.

Both lakes provide fishing for Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, and trophy size Bass.

Miles of trails wind through the woods, by the lakes and around fields with spectacular mountain views.

The wide variety of terrain on the Penmerryl trails is a joy for both the rider and their horse.
Lower Lake
The lower lake provides additional fishing opportunities and adds beauty to the Farm's walking, hiking and riding trails.
Dock and Dog After the activities of the day, you'll find there's not a prettier or more peaceful place for rest and relaxation.

Guests also enjoy golfing, skiing, biking, antiquing, and site seeing within a short distance of the Farm.
